A – Vergangheit und Zukunft (Past and Future) shows a billboard in the midst of a wasteland, advertising Bahnstadt Heidelberg, an ambitious large-scale urban development
on the site of a former U.S. Army base. The only signs of history in this non-descript wasteland are a nineteenth-century water tower and a mural advertising tax-free cars for American GIs.
B – Gegenwart (Present) shows containers on the building site of Bahnstadt Heidelberg and a group of resting construction workers. In the background are the buildings advertised with renderings on the billboard in panorama A.
Panoramas A and B are extant as a two-sided wall installation.
