The WNWD Memorial Day in September was initiated by Jules Spinatsch and first publicly announced at the IAEA, International Atomic Energy Agency, Conference on 2.March 2023 in Vienna.
The founding act took place on 10 September 2023, as part of the first final storage hike from Zweidlen to Haberstal, the future site of the final storage for all fuel elements from the four the swiss nuclear power plants.
